Raising Your Standards By: David Korn
An area where you can raise your standards is on yourself. We all have personality flaws, fashion mistakes, lack of skills, values, beliefs, and so on. Sometimes we have trouble accepting our current standards in a certain category. Instead, working on raising your standards in a category can amount to overall improvement. For instance, you may have many negative beliefs on something. Trying to think positive can raise your standards in that particular area. Your lifestyle and work can be important areas to raise your standards. Sometimes we live in a bad area or work at a job we dislike. Instead of sticking with a less desirable situation, we can work on improving it. Becoming disciplined and focus to achieving our desired outcome is a good way to raise our standards. If you are unhappy with something in your life, try to make a change for the better. When working and communicating with other people, we develop some sort of standards over time. If you find that people aren’t treating you well, it would be a good idea to raise your standards. Learning to not accept poor treatment and other negative things will enable you to deal with more favorable people. Communicating with people whom you have difficulty with will help you to raise your standards in that department. Raising your standards means trying the best you can in an area of development. There is usually always something to work on. Sometimes we are content with the way things are but deep down we want a change for the better. Having the courage to step away from something and embark on a new journey is something to achieve. Once you raise your standards in a certain area, you can feel confident that you are getting what you want as opposed to giving up a dream. |
