Physical Safety By: David Korn
Keeping yourself physically safe in the home is important. Make sure your home is secure and has an alarm system in case of burglary or theft. It is also good to hide your spare keys and keep your window blinds shut during the nighttime. It is very important to keep potentially dangerous items such as weapons and household cleaners away from children. When it comes to the telephone answering machine, it is best to leave a generic away message. When you are out on the street, it is important to keep your physical safety in mind. Pay careful attention to your surroundings and the people that are lurking. Many times, distractions arise, such as listening to music and talking on the phone. Being alert is very important to ensure your personal safety out in the streets. Being in well lit areas as opposed to dark areas will help you to steer clear of obstacles. If you are harassed, shouting can be a good idea to attract nearby onlookers. Being in a more crowded area is usually better than being alone. Self-defense is an important consideration when it comes to physical safety. Learning martial arts, obtaining weapons, carrying pepper spray, and carrying personal alarms are ways to ensure your personal safety. That way, you can apply these techniques, if necessary, no matter where you are. It is advisable to get proper training and licensing when dealing with dangerous items. Taking steps to ensure your physical and personal safety are necessary for survival skills. Being prepared, having backups, and adequate protection will give you piece of mind. Unfortunately, the world can be a dangerous place. Therefore, it is best to take precautions to keep yourself physically safe at all times. When you are prepared for a bad situation, you will be able to help others in addition to yourself. |
