Motivating Others By: David Korn
One of the best ways to motivate others is to find out what they want. Direct communication can help to determine this. Some people want money, some want a challenge, and so on. Adhering to the needs of others will help to motivate them. If their needs or wants change, it is best to adapt and find out in order to accommodate these changes. Along the way, praise is often a good form of motivating others. Taking notice of their accomplishments and achievements will make them feel special. It is best to find out if the person likes to be noticed on a personal level or in front of a group. Some like to be noticed in front of a group and this will make them even happier. Making sure an environment and its surroundings are comfortable is important. Having a fun and inviting atmosphere can help to motivate others. Giving out rewards and gifts once in a while will go a long way. Many people like awards such as certificates, trophies, plaques, and so on. Having a banquet or party at least once a year will give them something to look forward to as well. There are several other ways in motivating others. Finding out the best method or combination of methods for that individual person is the key. Then, adapting to change and tweaking your motivation techniques will also help to keep them going. When they accomplish more, this can have a residual effect upon you and bring forth positive feelings and rewards. |
