How to Improve Concentration By: David Korn
One of the biggest obstacles in improving and developing concentration is our minds. We have many thoughts and they can get in the way of our tasks. Learning to think one at a time and weed out unnecessary thoughts will help you concentrate. Zooming into the activity, while continuing your objective, will help you to steer clear of unwanted thoughts. Procrastination is another hamper when it comes to concentration. To combat procrastination, focus on rewards. Many times an activity offers a reward or incentive. Use that as a motivation to complete the task. Also, remind yourself of the importance of completing the task and noting the consequences of not finishing it. Dealing with distractions is important when trying to concentrate. If there is a lot of noise, electronic items turned on, or other things in your way, you will have difficulty concentrating. Breaking away or minimizing these distractions will help your mind better focus. Improving concentration can help you in many ways. You can accomplish more and be more efficient with your time. More advanced ways of improving concentration, such as meditation, may also come in handy. Finding the right technique or the right combination of techniques will help to improve your concentration. |
