Having Self-Awareness By: David Korn
Becoming aware of your personality is important. Knowing your strengths, weaknesses, what you can handle, your temperament, and so on is good for self-awareness. By knowing how you are and what you can handle, you can adapt to situations that are out of your comfort zone or avoid them altogether. In addition, you will know what personalities you mix and clash with in order to form healthy relationships. Being aware of your thoughts and feelings is very important. Many emotional disturbances are the result of our thinking. Learning to change and adjust our thought patterns can help us to feel better. Therefore, it is important to become self-aware of what’s going on inside of you in order to improve the situation. It is sometimes easy for our thoughts to drift by without us realizing it. But, our emotions can creep up this way. Therefore, it is a good idea to monitor your thoughts to stay on top of your moods. Your behaviors and actions are subject to a lot of judgment in society. Many people base criticisms predicated upon people’s actions. Therefore, it is best to become aware of how you act. Therefore, you can keep any negative behaviors in check. It is understandable for some behaviors to be not so good at times. But, it is important to be aware during any behavioral shifts or phases in order to control more serious occurrences. Incorporating self-awareness into your life will be beneficial in many ways. It is a good idea to know yourself as best as possible to adapt to the world. In addition, adjustments can be made if the awareness leads to a bad discovery. When you are aware of yourself, you can be better inclined to becoming aware of your external environment as well. Some folks practice choiceless awareness, where they pay attention to whatever comes their way. Either way, having awareness is good for daily life. |
