Ebooks vs. Print Books By: David Korn
Print books: 1. They can be felt and provide tactile stimulation. 2. They are portable and can be brought about anywhere. 3. They are very nostalgic. Ebooks: 1. Easily and instantly accessed on a electronic device. 2. They have portability via transfers and readers. 3. They save paper. Now, from this breakdown we see that they both have quite a few similarities. Either way they provide a main function to the audience, and that is reading. However, a big difference is that ebooks help our environment by saving paper and you can carry literally thousands of them on one device. Imagine having an entire library of ebooks at your fingertips, wherever you go. Portable devices are in the works for the expansion of ebooks in our society. I believe ebooks will be the next biggest thing to print books. Technology is expanding at such a fast pace that practically anything you can think of will have an "e-" next to it. I have recently started writing my own ebooks. My main specialty is self-help since most of my occupations in life revolved around helping people. But, the topics involving ebooks are endless. I want to be part of this new medium where reading goes virtual. It is inspiring to see progress evolving at a rapid pace in human society. I certainly hope this article inspires you to delve into the realm of ebooks as a reader or author. |
